The purpose of the role is to assess and enhance the management of delivered risk associated with change undertaken by IB&M. You will be responsible for ensuring that the risk management activities and controls relating to Risk in Change meets the Group’s internal requirements and external regulations. You will ensure that change risk is identified and managed in line with the Operational Risk Management Framework, Compliance Risk Management Framework and the Group’s Risk Appetite Statements. Through this role you will have significant exposure to the leading change activities and initiatives within IB&M Risk Management.

The IB&M Risk Management Chief Operating Office (specifically the Operational Risk team) is fundamental in implementing and embedding the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) requirements within IB&M Risk Management.

The accountabilities of a Senior Risk Associate within IB&M Risk Management will include:

• Provide comprehensive and integrated risk management service and advice, co-ordinate and implement effective risk management activities under the Operational Risk Management Framework for IB&M Risk Management  - This includes:
• Advisory – Provide commercial and pragmatic advice on policy, procedure, governance and risk management issues
• Governance/ Reporting –  Assist with the preparation of reporting of risk activities including management reports, risk governance forums, attendance and participation
• Risk & Control Profiles – Assist in the preparation and co-ordination for IB&M Risk ensuring that risks are being managed on an ongoing basis as per the Groups Operational Risk Management Framework
• Issues/ Incident Management – Assist in the monitoring, tracking of open items ensuring appropriate oversight and escalation to senior management. Assess issues in the broader IB&M context.
• Provide operational risk insights and reporting across IB&M Risk through the manipulation of data that delivers forward looking, meaningful and actionable insights to management

We're interested in hearing from people who:

• Demonstrated advisory experience in Operational Risk within the Financial Services industry;
• Strong organisational skills – managing a pipeline of incoming work and allocation within the team;
• Engaging the hearts and minds across the team to promote a positive risk culture; and
• Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Extensive experience in operational risk management and the application of risk frameworks within a Financial Services Organization or Professional Services Firm.
• Understanding and knowledge of the risk and control environment in a major bank
• Sound knowledge of institutional banking businesses and processes end to end
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Strong experience in report writing, presentations, data analysis and reporting of risk insights to business leaders
