Enterprise Services (ES) is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank. We drive the technology roadmaps and innovative and essential tools that our business product platforms and customers use on a daily basis, providing a market leading customer digital experience.
Our Enterprise Services Strategy team is part of Enterprise Services Strategy & Transformation, and is dedicated to driving transformative strategies and sustainable performance improvements across Enterprise Services and the Group. This focus is across a range of initiatives that form continued simplification and modernisation of the bank’s technology.
The Enterprise Services Strategy Team reports to the General Manager for Strategy and Innovation, and operates under the delegated authority of the Group Executive and CIO for Enterprise Services.
Do work that matters
As the Strategy Senior Manager you’ll set the strategic objectives and priorities for Enterprise Services, while leading strategic initiatives that will deliver on its objectives.
You will work in partnership with the Enterprise Services Leadership Team, Group Strategy, Group Finance, BU Leads, and the transformation teams across Enterprise Services to define a clear strategic narrative for technology and operations, and lead projects to deliver on this strategy.
The role will also support the Enterprise Services strategic and investment planning processes, translating Enterprise Services’ strategic intent into delivery and investment funding roadmaps for future years.
This role will lead a small team of strategy practitioners who deliver strategic projects on behalf of the CIO and Enterprise Services Leadership Team.
You will specifically be responsible for
- Driving and supporting Enterprise Services strategy development and transformation programs, in partnership with stakeholders and leaders across ES, Business Units, other support functions and external consultants
- Contributing to major strategic projects for Enterprise Services or Group by conducting research and quantitative analyses, managing a diverse remit of stakeholders or consultant partners, and taking ownership of workstreams as required
- Defining ES’ investment requirements, based on ES’ strategic objectives and roadmap
- Providing independent advice and driving execution of strategic initiatives within the Enterprise Services Strategy team, as well as providing execution support for ES technology teams where required
- Contributing to the preparation of papers for Enterprise Services Leadership Team, CBA Executive Leadership Team and Board
- Managing the work of junior team members, as well as identify learning opportunities and nurturing junior team members growth
- Developing new capabilities, tools and intellectual property for use within the ES Strategy team
We're interested in hearing from people who have
- Operated at a senior manager level within a management consulting firm or high-performing corporate strategy function, with exposure to digital or technology
- A proven track record of developing corporate/business unit strategies, strategic roadmaps and investment plans
- Shaped and led significant components of cross-organisational strategic initiatives
- Demonstrated the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders across a variety of scenarios
- Drafted executive and board level papers, requiring alignment from numerous executives
- Led problem solving and analysis activities (both hypothesis and data driven)
- Built and let a high performing team of strategy practitioners
- Proven capability in growing junior team members skills and capabilities
