The Human Resources (HR) team plays a key role in supporting the Group’s strategy by working with our client teams to attract and build talent, develop leaders, drive capability and performance, create a diverse culture, and enhance productivity. The Group People Services (GPS) team provides the Group with HR advisory and operational services across Workplace & Industrial Relations, Employee Benefits, Global Mobility, Health, Safety & Well-being, People & Payroll Services, Workforce Analytics, HR Direct, and Workers’ Compensation.
Your Team
The Industrial Relations Team is responsible for end to end management of industrial relations including developing the strategy, implementing the Group’s enterprise agreement negotiations, and monitoring the external IR environment.
Your impact & contribution
As Industrial Relations Manager you are responsible for the provision of consistent, impartial support and assistance on IR operations issues and strategic projects. Your Business Unit and Human Resources stakeholders will look to you as the subject matter expert to help refine strategies and determine priorities.
Your responsibilities:

- Providing advice and guidance to line and senior management on IR related matters, including developing advice with internal/external legal advisers.
- Monitoring and reporting on the external industrial relations environment to ensure the Group is an employer of choice.
- Supporting the Group IRs strategic direction and implementation of strategies, including assisting with planning and end to end delivery of work streams.
- Engaging with internal stakeholders to manage relationships and expectations while supporting organisational change. An example of this could include facilitating presentations/workshops across the Group on IR matters.
- Partnering with the BUs, HR and finance teams to refine the Group’s strategic objectives and priorities and analyse the financial implications.
- Develop materials to report Group IR activities and implications to internal stakeholders and senior management across the Group.
Your experience and qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Industrial Relations, HR Management or a related discipline and extensive experience in the direct provision of industrial relations or employee relations advice.
- Highly developed knowledge of IR theory, principles, policies, practices and employment legislation.
- Experience in developing, leading and implementing strategic IR plans to assist in achieving business goals and objectives.
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
- Advocacy before the relevant Industrial Tribunals, Commissions and Courts.
