The CBA Risk Management team is a Line 2 team responsible for developing and deploying the Group’s risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetite.

The Retail Banking Services (RBS) Operational Risk team is a Line 2 team which supports the Retail Banking business within the Group.

Do work that matters

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Operational Risk RBS this newly created role will provide you exposure to a growing team that is developing its strategy and mandate for the year ahead.

You will have the opportunity to be involved with:

  • Leading, coaching and motivating a dedicated team of operational risk professionals;
  • Executing a strategy for delivering the team’s responsibilities in relation to the operational risk framework;
  • Assurance activity over key risk matters, including the closure of significant matters, including audit matters;
  • Advice on appropriateness of risk governance structures within RBS; and
  • Provision of various operational risk reports and dashboards to leadership teams, risk committees and boards.

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:

  • Proven experience in compiling, preparation and writing of management reports, board papers and board reports;
  • Demonstrated personal and interpersonal effectiveness;
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and sound business acumen;
  • Degree in a financial, business, risk management or legal discipline;
  • Previous, demonstrated compliance, regulatory risk or operational risk knowledge and experience, preferably in the banking and finance sector; and
  • Detailed understanding of the financial regulatory environment.
