The Business Unit
Enterprise Services (ES) is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.
The Team
The ES Line 1 Risk & Controls team is part of the broader Strategy and Performance team and consists of a Centre of Excellence (CoE), Risk Management & Engagement and Operational Risk teams. These teams work with the business, including Project and Portfolio Managers, Service Owners, Business Owners, Enterprise Procurement and Partnerships (EPP) and Digital Protection Group (DPG) to capture and assess technology and operational risks and test mitigating controls identified through major projects and change initiatives across the Group.
The Role
The primary objective of the role will be to deliver technology risk assessments, and manage work-plans for technology risk assessments performed across the domains. This includes providing specialist advice relating to the development and enhancement to the group’s policy, as well as risks associated with new or modified third party or outsourced supplier arrangements.
- Facilitate risk workshops and provide robust challenge
- Produce risk artefacts in line with the ORMF and CPS 231, this will include technology risk assessments, materiality risk assessments, data sensitivity assessments, operational risk assessments, offshore risk assessments, risk in change
- Be able to identify the key risks and key controls relevant to the major project/change initiative
- Provide guidance to the Business Owner, and EPP in relation to contract suitability for the major project/change initiatives as required based on your knowledge of the technology solution and risk environment
- Ensure effective design of key controls for all new and changing processes through review of technical design documents and collaboration with SMEs in CBA such as Security Architects and Designers.
The Requirements:
You will be well seasoned in technology risk management, with a likely background in a consulting role (strategy, process re-design) and/or an audit role from a professional services firm or big 4 bank. IT Audit experience would be highly beneficial.
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate initiative to lead discussions with operational staff at all levels, in addition to business leaders and risk management colleagues.
