The Risk and Control team provides the Home Buying businesses with the visibility and tools to effectively manage and optimise their risk and control framework.

The team provides a comprehensive and integrated risk support service, providing risk management advice and coordination of the implementation of risk management activities.

This position exists to own, drive and manage the Operational Risk framework for Home Buying.

The ideal candidate will have a background in home lending or risk at an analyst level. It important that you understand what risks are involved in your current role as we are looking for risk aware candidates. Risk questions will also be asked during the interview process.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving the risks and controls culture across our business stakeholders
  • Maintaining strong professional expertise in risk management issues and approaches
  • Gathering and analysing risk reports and data to identify and understand risks
  • Identifying and initiating actions to remediate risks and to strengthen controls
  • Collaborating with line management executives and with other stakeholders
  • Undertaking diagnostic deep dives on the risk and control environment
  • Capturing risks and controls in a risk profile (RCSA) and reporting key themes
  • Ensuring effective design of controls for all new and changing processes
  • Tracking audit and risk issues, co-ordinating review, investigation and remediation on behalf of the portfolio.
  • Providing reports to management on outstanding issues and actions
  • Provide operational risk advice to the Business on procedural and risk management issues and identifying emerging trends from a risk perspective

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Experience in home lending or operational risk or audit
  • Proven experience in managing senior stakeholders
  • Strong Oral and Written communication skills
  • Has an understanding of the risks involved in their day to day role
